Acupuncture

How does acupuncture work?

Acupunture promotes the free flow of qi energy through the body's pathways to maintain harmony, balance and order in the body. It involves the insertion of needles into specific points in the body.

What acupuncture needles do you use?

Sterile, single use, disposable needles. Very fine guage 0.15 - 0.3mm. Needle length depends on location in the body.

How many needles are usually used?

This ranges from around 5 - 20 depending on client needs.

Herbal Medicine

In what form do herbs come?

Modern herbal medicine includes single herb granules, granulated formulas, capsules, pills, plasters and linaments, tailored to client needs.

Tai Chi

How often are courses held?

Around 4 times per year. Courses are 1 session per week and usually 6 - 8 weeks in length.

Do I need a certain level of fitness?

No. Both standing and seated Tai Chi is available.

General Questions

Do I need TCM treatment?

Traditional Chinese Medicine can help treat stress, fatigue, headaches, muscular aches, injuries and chronic disorders.

Does treatment require removal of clothing?

Cupping, Tuina massage, Moxibustion and some acupuncture is done directly on the affected area and will require removal of clothing. Distal needling is available for acupuncture meaning treatment of areas such as hips can be done without removal of clothing.

What are your clinic hours?

Appointments are available from Monday to Saturday.
